2020 International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

Following the United Nations General Assembly resolution 181 (ii) of 1947, the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), observed on 10 December 2020, virtually, the annual International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. H.E. Ms. Khojesta Fana Ebrahimkhel, Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to UNOV was nominated by the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People as its Chairperson. Ms. Ghada Waly, Director General of UNOV, delivered the UN Secretary-General’s statement. Various high-level representatives from Member States, Regional Groups and Non-Governmental Organizations were as well part of the agenda. The Permanent Observer of Palestine to UNOV, H.E. Mr. Salahaldin Abdalshafi delivered the statement of H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine.
