About us

Welcome to the UN Language Training Programme of Vienna!

We aim to promote multilingualism within the Secretariat and the language capabilities of its staff, as mandated by the General Assembly in its resolutions of 1968 (A/RES/2480(XXIII), A/RES/43/224 and A/RES/50/11).

As such, we offer courses intended for non-native speakers who want to acquire language skills to communicate in a social and /or professional context.

We offer various specialised courses for written and oral communication in the following languages: French, English, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish and German.

The Vienna Language Programme is divided into:

Spring semester (mid-February until end of June/beginning of July)

Fall semester (mid-September until end of January)

Each semester lasts a total of 16 weeks, with 48 teaching hours for standard courses. Classes are normally conducted two times a week and last approximately 60 minutes each.

We also offer Language Workshops this semester.
